Nicolas Krauze, French conductor, is a graduate of the Washington DC Conservatory and the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow, from which he graduated with five first prizes. He has studied under such conductors as Gennady Cherkassov, Zsolt Nagy and Christoph Eschenbach.
Over the past 20 years, he has conducted more than 800 concerts worldwide, both symphonic and operatic, and has been invited by leading national and regional orchestras throughout Europe, as well as in Asia and Latin America. Each season, he conducts some fifty concerts on three continents.
In addition to his career as guest conductor, Nicolas Krauze has been musical and artistic director of the Orchestre de Chambre Nouvelle Europe for the past ten years. Nouvelle Europewith whom he has conducted over 500 concerts.
In September 2018 (and until the start of the war in February 2022) he also took on the role of Principal Guest Conductor of the National Philharmonic of Ukraine, becoming the first foreigner to hold this position in the country's history.
In addition to his conducting career, Nicolas Krauze has a passion for economics and international relations, and is a graduate of the Institut d'Études Politiques de Paris (ScPo Paris). He is fluent in French, English, Russian and Polish.
