Julia Tasse is Director of Research at the Institut de Relations Internationales et Stratégiques (IRIS) and head of the Climate, Energy and Security Program.
Her research focuses on the interactions between security and climate. With François Gemenne, she co-directs the Observatoire Défense et Climat, a project funded by the French Ministry of Defence.
She also specializes in maritime affairs and the ocean from a geopolitical perspective. Julia Tasse specializes in maritime issues, having worked on them for several years for a variety of organizations - including the World Ocean Council, the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the French Development Agency.
Head of IRIS Sup' 1st year International Relations diploma program, Julia Tasse is also a member of the editorial board of La Revue internationale et stratégique.
Julia Tasse holds a master's degree in international environmental policy from the Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris (Sciences Po), a master's degree in environmental sciences from the Université Pierre et Marie Curie and a bachelor's degree in life sciences, specializing in genetics.
